Rockaraoke "You Sing. We Play" at Snoqualmie Casino

We went to Snoqualmie Casino for Chris' Birthday.   Every Sunday Rockaraoke performs at the SNO lounge.  I have just experienced the next level of karaoke! This article pretty much describes Rockaraoke.  Anyways, I have no desire to perform but most of the people in our group went up there and sang their heart out with a live band playing and I fully 100% support that.   Everyone in the group did a great job hitting those notes.  The band was lively and into every song and surprising the audience was very kind to all rockstars - first timers as well as the not so great.  Special mention to Zak, @madzak, whom went up there and sang Enter Sandman by Metallica and was an instant hit.  So proud of him!  I wish I had requested a videotape but I have a hunch we might be coming here for future celebrations.

Memorial Day 2010

I hope everyone had a good memorial day weekend. I know mine was full
of booze, food, and friends. We went to the annual Folklife Festival
at the Seattle Center on Saturday. Free admission to all 4 days. I am
not sure how to describe this event but it was sure a clash of food,
music and people. Each corner of the festival played in a different
tune - blue grass to hip hop to grunge to etc. And scattered around
the ground were food vendors and merchants. You can count on the
usual carnival foods but there were african, thai, chinese, indian,
and german goodies. That was exciting fun checking out the people in
Seattle. I think next time I will try to wear an outfit that blends
well in the crowd.. Looked to normal with jeans and a black jacket.
So after it got dark, we hit up chinatown Bush Garden for some karaoke
and Sake. It was really fun... I don't have the nerve to sing but many
others were excellent and got the crowd going. Memorial day weekend
doesn't end without a cookout or it wouldn't be called memorial day
weekend. So we had people at the house, grilled up some juicy
hamburgers and beer-soaked brats, drank screwdrivers, and played Wii
Monopoly. Can't believe it's already June! Where does the time go?

Can I keep this kitten for myself?! She's so cute!

I went to my mother-in-laws house this past weekend and unfortunately missed her but I had keys to visit her kitties.  Her name is Poppy and she's a Norwegian Forest breed. She's only a few months old, but so big! I thought kittens were small enough to fit in my palms.  Anyways, she is so entertaining. Her favorite toys are wands and goes nuts over them. She jumps high, flips in the air, somersaults, and rolls around with feathers in her mouth and paws.  One other night I played with her for a consecutive 3 hours long and that didn't slow her down.  She is carefree, high energy, and playful kitten. And so sweet, she doesn't bite or claw. She may not like getting picked up, but she is gentle and looks up with her inquisitive eyes asking "Can I go play now?". I just can't say no to her.

went to mall with miao and found these cute toys

I'm not sure what the store was called, but I immediately knew I wanted to go browse.   There was so many cute accessories from hello kitty bags to key chains to stationery.   It has been a while since I've seen a store like this and more surprised to see it at Beachwood Place mall.  I really enjoyed the perfectpetzz.com lifelike stuffed animals and I was full of glee to see a shih tzu napping.  I loved it!

time for myself weekend

I had a successful time centering myself this weekend.  I ran at the gym, pampered my skin with Lush products, washed the cars on a beautiful, sunny and warm day in Ohio.  I was productive - finished errands,  made progress for work, school and home.  It was relaxing, no stress worry free weekend! Yay!   I think every once a while I have to do this for myself.  I find myself absolutely overwhelmed with my to dos that I need to ask myself what is most important to me and what can I do to help myself do these tasks in a more satisfying meaningful way.  A different, positive attitude and mindset to get through a day is much better than holding a grudge and being fearful.  Not only can a negative mindset affect myself, it can make an indirect impact on others around me.
